I wrote this on July 4th; because, entrepreneurship is one of the basic elements, in the building of America.

From the first entrepreneurs; who bought Manhattan Island, for $24 in trade goods.

This is a sincere post. Written in the Spirit of the Fourth Of July.

I am impossibly stressed out, continually, reading about all the crime, in New Jersey and all over the US. I've been like this for years.

I don't get why you are all, just throwing your lives away?

Learn how to Own Your Life, Don't Let Life Own You!

Don't let the old ways of thinking keep you back. You can be anything you want to be!

You should be investing your money in buying and selling real estate There's still plenty of it out there going really cheap.

I know lot's of people out there have brains, just no education or opportunity. Make your own opportunity.

It's a good trick to convince the poor that a little bit of life is good;
but you know what, a whole lot of life is way better

Being from the inner city and having grown up in the sixties, I know whats going on. They can't fool me. I was about the last generation that was given a half-way decent education.

So; in the grassroots spirit of America's founding entrepreneurs, I say, drug dealers need to get into legitimate businesses.

It is so feasible and applicable everywhere. Plus; no guns, no cops, plenty of product since the housing mortgage bubble collapse.

Start your own small (legal) business.

Knowledge is Power!

People don't have to fight over the chump change that you get from dealing with the illegal stuff. This isolates you and keeps you poor. It gives society a excuse to deny you what they owe everybody, a chance to prosper financially and live a good life.

The opportunity for many people to own land, buy at its truer value, is right there!
There's still a lot of property out there that's begging to be bought up cheap!

The difference between the rich and the poor is, the rich know how to do it.

This advice is for anyone who can scrape up a down payment and mortgage. Get a well built and well taken care of, small family building, with maybe 3 apts and a store or two.

One apt to live in, 2 to rent, and a store or two, will pay the mortgage, upkeep and some profit too.

Simple formula. Then continue on that concept, (buying as much property), as financially possible. Look for quality rather than quantity. It doesn't take much property to make money.

$250K in drugs seized, 3 arrested in North Bergen raid, police say by Anthony J Machcinski/The Jersey Journal July 03 2013

Even wholesale these drugs had to cost these three entrepreneurial geniuses a lot. I'm guessing, at least $30,000.

This amount would have been a nice down payment on a store or apartment building where they could have collected rent. Nice and legal.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

for those that dont know, north bergan NJ is the urban political body (would be wrong to call it a different city lol) north of jersey city.

    to the diarist--

the sad truth is that people all over hudson county and newark etc do sell drugs in anticipation of investing it into a business. and Im sure this aint limited to jersey.

where do you get the start up money for a bodega? for a taxi cab medallion? maybe a laundromat? dont kid yourself, many people generate their investment capital through drugs. these arent the thugs who horde 250k worth of drugs and distribute them throughout NJ. These are working class people who might "know someone" and profit from bringing a "package" across town from one guy to another. they arent the street dealers, though they may be the ones who supply some street dealers. heck, some families get a piece of the action for every bottle of Jamesons sold and use some of that money to finance a political dynasty....oh wait, thats the kennedy's and booze, so its ok.....

some drug dealers get caught because they are dumb and the cops can be smart. some drug dealers get caught because they are greedy. most drug dealers earn @40-50k a year, some do earn far more. and some drug dealers understand the system and operate with a financial goal in mind in an economic system regulated strictly by violence.

and if we continue down the path we travel, there will be more people exploiting the informal economy in order to achieve legitimate economic stability. some will succeed and some will fail and some will be murdered and some will go to jail

but, morality aside, its just capitalism....FREEDOM (trademark GOP 2013)

I cant tell if its a West End musical or Marxism in action.

Stop dealing drugs and other criminal activities. Become businessmen like all those wall st types.

For what these dealers are paying up front for the drugs they'd have at least, a nice down payment on the things you and I mentioned.

BTW, I'm from Bayonne, NJ. The town right next to Jersey City.

I've never seen the affluent type of drug dealers you talk about. I've only seen those young kids standing on the street.

And if one reads they can see all the terror that's going on out there.

So I just wanted to help them all by giving them some good advice. The kind of advice the rich won't tell them about.

This video was supposed to be in the last comment. We've been having a glitch with the videos. You have to type in http: between the src=" and //www or they won't post here at Kos. It just started doing this 6/27. I found out how to fix it at the help section.

pay off big time for banks.  and they never get caught.m So rather than real estate, I say open a bank and keep dealing drugs.

Bad things aren't bad! And anyway, there's mitigation!
