I am not much of a writer so forgive me if this isn't a compelling piece. Anyways, for those of you that don't know, Nigeria is the world's most populous black nation. 162.5 million people as at the last count. Also  very very very religious nation, but still Nigeria is the 35th most corrupt nation in the world.

anyways am off to earn my pay... I'd continue when i get back. Cheers

just got back home awfully tired

Anyways, Did you guys know Nigeria is the second country to ban same sex marriage? Nigeria recognizes neither same-sex marriages nor civil unions for same-sex couples. Homosexuality can land men up to 14 years in prison in Southern Nigeria and capital punishment for men in areas under Sharia Islamic Law. And the awful thing is that over 90% support the federal ban. God i was born in the wrong country! 90% of my fellow country men think its the government's duty to determine who one is allowed to love. Don't get me wrong, I ain't gay, neither am i totally okay with the idea of same sex marriage(blame it on the kind of environment i was brought up in), however i think its no ones business who someone else chooses to marry.

You know things are really crazy here when you got this Nigerian HUMAN RIGHTS LAWYER arguing for the same sex ban!

I gotta go for now guys.. connecting to the internet is pretty costly here. talk to you all later

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
