I'll get Eric Shinseki, if that's the last thing I'll do!
Let's go down the list of accomplishments Darrell Issa has done as House Oversight & Government Reform Committee Chairman:
1) He did not allow Sandra Fluke to testify in the Winter 2012 hearings on contraception nor did he allow any women to testify as well.
2) He went after U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder on the Fast & Furious "Scandal" and pined him against the wall as if he was a dart board and was throwing darts against him. Issa's attacks though were proven a waste as the Inspector General's findings proved absolutely nothing tied Holder to the Fast & Furious problem.
3) Hearing after hearing on the 2012 Benghazi incident has produced no additional information for Darrell Issa, even while he continues to insist there's uncertainty and information out there.
4) The IRS "scandal" as Issa and Tea Party Republicans put it, has no longer become an issue on Tea Party groups being targeted by the IRS but liberal groups as well. Issa though has been more worked up on conservative groups being targeted and continues to insist there's a political agenda in Washington, even though he originally stated the White House was involved.
Now Issa's got another case: He's going after the VA.

After targeting lavish conference spending by the Internal Revenue Service, Rep. Darrell Issa of Vista is setting his sights on similar spending by the Department of Veterans Affairs. He issued a subpoena to VA Secretary Eric Shinseki and other officials at the agency on Tuesday.
Issa wants communications related to the roughly $6 million spent by the department for two human resources conferences conducted in Orlando, Fla., in 2011. The amount includes tens of thousands of dollars for a parody video of World War II Army Gen. George Patton, a reception and promotional items.
“After the personal assurances I received from secretary Shinseki and the accommodations made by congressional investigators, there can be no excuse for the continued delay,” Issa said. “I am determined to find out just why and how taxpayer dollars were spent in such an indulgent and careless manner.”
Of course, there is reason for Congress to be concerned on the VA spending per the Inspector General's report:
“VA wasted and/or misused taxpayer dollars in several ways, including: $280,698 for excessive contract costs with the Orlando Marriott; $200,224 for unsupported expenses, including VA-paid contractor travel; $49,516 to produce a General George S. Patton parody video; $97,906 for unnecessary promotional items; $10,666 for conference site survey trips; $37,489 for travel expenses for conference attendees arriving early or staying late; and $43,018 of VA staff awards for conference management roles,” the report said.
Still, what reason to we have to trust Issa at this point on making an objective and fair investigation into this supposed "scandal" at the VA? Hasn't he proven already he's incapable of doing effective oversight?
As usual, keep the San Diego County Democratic Party busy since they're the most local and active Democratic Party nearby Darrell Issa's area of residence (not to mention his local office).
Make sure you mark down this information and pass it on to others for firing up the base in California's 49th Congressional District if you want to target Issa for re-election and get voter registration drives going:
