From The Daily Mail:
Rupert Murdoch has been challenged by MPs to explain his secretly recorded comments criticising the ‘totally incompetent’ police inquiries into phone hacking and corrupt payments.
The News Corp boss faces a police investigation over the tapes in which he criticises the ‘unbelievable’ treatment of journalists and he suggests he knew about corrupt payments to public officials.
Keith Vaz, chairman of the home affairs select committee, has given the media tycoon five days to respond to a demand for an explanation.

This may well be 'end game' stuff, as a little bird recently told me. Earlier in the week, Parliament summoned Rupert back before them to answer questions about his comments on the secret tape. They were expected to schedule his appearance for some time in the fall.
Simultaneously, UK police have launched an investigation into possible crimes confessed to by Rupert on the tape.
But today, Parliament basically said, "Rupert, it appears from the tape that you lied to us. We want answers and we want them now!"
It's been rumored that some US charges against News Corp. and/or Rupert himself are about to be filed. Maybe the UK doesn't want American law enforcement to get all the glory.
