It is increasingly clear that these laws empower already marginal personalities to act out their paranoid racist fantasies. As tragic as the killing of Trayvon Martin was it is not an isolated incident. Since the SYG law was passed the lunatics feel like they are now justified in acting out what before was just fantasy. Follow me below for some other examples and upcoming trials that might be of interest.
First, I wish to express how wounded my heart and soul are over this verdict. It is clearly a travesty of "justice" and I feel so very awful for Trayvon's friends and family. After hearing the verdict I raged and cried and raged some more until finally crying myself to sleep while holding my dear husband who was still trembling with rage hours after the verdict. My husband is a Black man and I fear for him each time he leaves the house. I fear some coward with a gun will find him "scary" and decide to shoot him. My fears are not unreasonable nor unfounded. Here are a couple more examples just in Florida of what happens when you tell people they can play cowboy.
Meet racist extraordinaire Walton Butler who spent his days calling black children in the neighborhood racial slurs. When one of the residents knocked on his door to confront him about his use of language, he shot him in the face then went back inside and finished cooking and eating his dinner while the man lay dying on his porch.
Upon arriving at the apartment, Butler shot Gant between the eyes with a .22 rifle and shut his door, leaving Gant to bleed outside.
Butler called 911, finished cooking supper, sat down and began eating, the affidavit details. Nugent arrived on the scene and contacted Butler by phone, at which time Butler told Nugent to come in, that Butler was eating dinner and had put up the gun.
Nugent said Butler acted as if “inconvenienced” when put under arrest, saying he could not understand the problem as “he had only shot a nigger.”
Michael Dunn another fine upstanding dirtbag with a gun, that shot and killed a 17 year old for playing his music too loud. He fired multiple shots into an SUV with four teens in it at a gas station. He left the scene and ordered pizza with his wife back at their hotel room. What is it with these guys and eating dinner after murdering people?
The detectives said the boys agreed that Davis had cursed at him and reacted in defiance but he had never threatened his life.
Police said none of the witnesses reported seeing anyone get out of the SUV, other than the driver when he got out to get gas.
And when the detectives informed him for the first time that a gun was never recovered from the scene and that the vehicle never left the parking lot, Dunn reacted with surprise.
“Did he have a stick?” he said. “Because he stuck something up.”
The detective told him there was no gun and that he took the dispute “from zero to 100 without hitting 50.” He asked him if, looking back, he thought he overreacted.
“Sir, from where I was sitting, a shotgun was coming at me,” Dunn replied. “... I think I would do the same. I hope I would not be afraid to do the same.”
Dunn said he went back to his hotel, ordered out for pizza and later left to head back to Brevard County. He said he wanted to be around people he knew when he called police, which he never did.
I'm sure if I had more time I could find more examples but this should give you an idea of the mindset that these laws fuel. We must work to change the laws, NOW, before more innocents are murdered by these lunatics. I'm too exhausted to write more and sleep will not come easily again tonight.
