The rightwing media made some virulent accusations during the course of the George Zimmerman trial, terrified briefly for some reason that justice might actually be served in a Florida courtroom,
Judge Nelson has been very careful at every stage of the trial to dismiss evidence or testimony that could convince the jury in favor of acquitting Zimmerman.
Now some are asking the question – did Nelson’s aggressive outburst represent an attempt to prejudice the jury against Zimmerman?
Given the likelihood that Zimmerman will be acquitted, has Judge Nelson been put under pressure by the federal government to aggressively advocate for the prosecution, just as Supreme Court Justice John Roberts was apparently pressured to vote to uphold Obamacare?
The 'fix was in' according to one commenter:
A fix is in from the administration to find Zimmerman guilty regardless of what it takes,” commented one.
The National Review is considered a respectable outlet and
focused on Judge Nelson 'confronting' Zimmerman.
Today they are hailing the verdict. Justice is served!
Newsbusters has a long article 'blaming' the media of being guilty, and recounting all its instances of bias towards Trayvon, though since Zimmerman was acquitted I guess all that proves is how ineffectual the media is.
And in the last days of the trial The State Attorney's office fired the IT director who drew out the cellphone texts and pictures from Trayvon Martin's phone and testified of his 'concern' that the defense was not properly being given all the evidence.
The State's Attorney office hand delivered a letter to Ben Kruidbos's home which read in part:
But the dismissal letter written by Peek contends he did his job poorly as information technology director and said he should have asked someone in the office about his concerns regarding the Martin case.
“Your egregious lack of regard for the sensitive nature of the information handled by this office is completely abhorrent,” Peek wrote. “You have proven to be completely untrustworthy. Because of your deliberate, wilful and unscrupulous actions, you can never again be trusted to step foot in this office.”
The headlines screamed he was fired for '
concealment of evidence' and hailed him as a '
whistleblower' who 'linked' Trayvon to drugs and guns.
If this is the Obama Administration meddling, the verdict seems to show only how bad they are at it. So will the RWNJ's now retract all their accusations and fevered speculation? Of course not. They have moved on to screaming that the DOJ will now 'persecute' George Zimmerman, citing as evidence Senate Majority Leader 'Henry' Reid's statement on this morning's Meet the Press:
“Yeah, of course,” Reid responded. “And I think the Justice Department’s going to take a look at this. You know, this isn’t over with, and I think that’s good, that’s our system. It’s gotten better, not worse.”
IF the Obama DOJ 'meddling' is anything to go by, Zimmerman can rest easy with his upcoming 'persecution'.
