How many more Americans will have to die because of political delaying schemes pertaining to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act? This legislation was passed three years ago and most of the provisions still have yet to become available and recently even more delaying schemes have been devised by politicians in Washington.
Many studies have been done showing similar statistics as the one done by Harvard estimating that 30,000 to 40,000 American citizens die annually because of a lack of access to affordable health care as sadly we remain the only industrialized nation in this planet that fails to do this despite efforts going back 100 years to Teddy Roosevelt to fix this.
A healthy nation is an efficient nation. A ball coach can't be successful with sick and injured players. He wants them healthy and back on the field as soon as possible. Same for a nation, we want all of our people healthy so they can be active and productive citizens. It's actually a nationally security issue. Ask someone in the military if health and fitness are important.
Stay involved, write or talk with your representatives and ask them to stop with the delays. Write letters-to-editors (smile), blog, make Facebook pages, Twitter, Google Plus, just do your part and do what you can. Hopefully not but if you don't it could be you or a family member that is affected in the future.
In closing also do your part to benefit yourself and our health care system by choosing a healthy lifestyle. Over half of circulatory problems, cancers and diabetes can be prevented simply by doing that.
