Received this e-mail today from Iraq and Afghanistan War veteran, Kevin Stouse (D. PA-08), who is challenging Tea Party Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (R. PA-08), regarding Pennsylvania's voter ID laws:
This week, a trial began to determine the constitutionality of PA’s voter I.D. law, which is one of the strictest in the nation.
The law was passed last year by Governor Tom Corbett and Pennsylvania Republicans. Ultimately it could lead to lower turnout for young adults, minorities, seniors, the disabled and the poor. And it’s no coincidence that these groups tend to vote Democratic. Last year PA House Leader, Republican Mike Turzai, actually said “Voter I.D.… is gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania.”
We can’t let this stand. If you agree that every person deserves the right to vote, then sign on and make your voice heard.
Sign your name and tell Governor Tom Corbett to repeal PA’s discriminatory voter I.D. law >>

If Corbett’s law goes into effect, over 500,000 registered voters could be turned away from the polls. That’s disenfranchisement at its worst, and it could be a total boon to my opponent, Republican Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick.
Help us reach 1,000 strong from PA 8th district telling Gov. Corbett to protect the right to vote for ALL Pennsylvanians.

Thanks for adding your voice,
