You ought to be out raising hell. This is the fighting age. Put on your fighting clothes.

Coney Island, New York - The Textile Army Guests of Animal King, Frank C. Bostock
Since yesterday, Mother Jones and her Industrial Army of textile strikers have been the guests of the famous animal trainer, Frank C. Bostock. Known far and wide as the "King of the Animals," it is said that Bostock's lion act, featuring Bonavita and his 27 African lions, is the greatest in the world. In spite of the dangers to himself and to the delight of the public, Bonavita enters the ring each evening to faces the snarling teeth and giant claws. He has been injured more than once.
There is Mme. Morelli, "queen of the jaguars." She is the world's most famous woman animal trainer. On one occasion, she was bitten right through the shoulder, yet has not given up her act. We can also find Clyde W Powers with his trio of elephants, Brandu, the snake charmer, a grizzly bear, pumas, tigers, and more-some 25 acts in all.
The children slept last night in the loft of the Bostock Building, and will sleep there again tonight. They seem delighted with their accommodations.
Mother Jones will address the crowd at 4:30 this afternoon.

Calumet, Michigan - Ana K. Clemenc, Miner's Daughter and Miner's Wife
Yesterday, a parade of striking copper miners was lead by a miner's wife known as Tall Annie. She carried a massive flag on a staff 10 feet long. Today we will get to know her better.
Annie was born to George and Mary Klobuchar on March 2, 1888 in Redjacket, near Calumet Township, in Michigan. Ana was the first of five children born to the couple. Her parents are Slovenian immigrants; her father works in the copper mines. In May of 1906, at the age of 18, she married Joe Clemenc, a copper miner like her father. They make their home in Redjacket not far from Annies's parents and the two younger brothers still living at home. The entire extended family is active in St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Annie stays busy as a landlady tending to her boarders and as a church worker. Since the strike began, she can be found on the picket line, at the union hall, and, of course, carrying the flag at the head of the marching miners and their families.

From TheFrisky.com: Forced Child Labor Is On The Rise
Forced child labor is on the rise according to a new [*] report from risk analysis firm Maplecroft. The UK firm examined 197 countries and found that around 40 percent were classified under the “extreme risk” category. Not surprisingly, conflict-torn countries and authoritarian regimes topped the list. Myanmar, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Burundi, Pakistan and Ethiopia round out the top 10, though an additional 66 countries fall into the extreme risk category.
