For the past three years, I've been publishing LGBT graphic novels and comics under the Northwest Press imprint. The next book, coming in October, is a collection of new work from 33 established queer comics veterans and newcomers alike, called QU33R, and it contains a haunting piece by Andy Hartzell about Chelsea Manning, based on her documented chats with Adrian Lamo.
Here is that entire piece.
"Manning/Lamo Project" by Andy Hartzell, from the forthcoming anthology QU33R from Northwest Press, edited by Robert Kirby.
Taken from the actual transcripts from Manning’s text messages with hacker turned informant Adrian Lamo, the interaction is re-imagined as fable. Hartzell’s tale is an information transaction, a confession and a seduction.
