I think a understand most of the points of view, but I am still torn on Syria. First let me say I am progressive when it comes to my politic views. I do believe Alan GRAYSON

GRAYSON: No, because we still haven't heard anything that would explain why there's a vital U.S. national security interest in attacking Syria . that's the bottom line here. I feel bad that this attack happened, but it wasn't an attack against Americans. It's not an attack against anything that resembles an American interest.
We can't be the policemen for the world. We have to pick our fights.
The country is incredibly war weary at this point and understandably so. We should tend to our own garden first.
I agree with Grayson we shouldn't be the world Police, but what are we as a nation this is the tough part.
As a Nation do we ignore everything that happens. I remember another war that it cost us.

The attack on Pearl Harbor[nb 4] was a surprise military strike conducted by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on the morning of December 7, 1941 (December 8 in Japan). The attack led to the United States' entry into World War II.
The attack was intended as a preventive action in order to keep the U.S. Pacific Fleet from interfering with military actions the Empire of Japan was planning in Southeast Asia against overseas territories of the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and the United States. There were simultaneous Japanese attacks on the US-held Phillipines and on the British Empire in Malaya, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
We did nothing which lead to a attack that brought us into war. So what can we learn from history. I know a lot are torn between Iraq what happen, but is this Iraq or is this similar to Clinton's action?

FLASHBACK: Conservative Lawmakers Decried Clinton’s Attacks Against Osama As ‘Wag the Dog’
This is why I am torn because I remember what happen to Bill Clinton when he took action. So this is what I have to ask you as a progress do we ignore the world and turn our back on it? There is no way we can be the world police, but do we wait for a attack to happen on our land. That is what I am torn about because yes we know that chemical attacks were used, but what actions will what we do have on the future. If we do little will it not be enough if we do to much what will happen due to our action. I'm torn the more I go back and forward the more I can not pick a side.
I know some have already decided to be for the war and against the war. Similar to NSA sides are being taken. Dems who we once trusted as Honorable are now being smeared. We even have here at Dailykos Shut the Fuck up Kerry on the Recommend list, but once we honored Kerry. Kerry's been stuck in a war as well as done more to help soldiers then we give him credit to. Yet one action that we do not have a clear means and now people wish for his blood.
This isn't the same as Bush. Obama is doing things different and already being attacked for his actions.

“The consequences of the Congress of the United States overriding a decision of the president of the United States of this magnitude are really very, very serious,” McCain said, adding, “already we are sending a bad signal to Iran, to North Korea, to Bashar Assad.”
So I ask you place yourself in a thought A would be McCain President would do what Obama isn't doing just bomb the hell out of the country. Obama has not pulled the trigger yet. This is not a matter of if one supports Obama or one disagrees with Obama. This is something we as HUMAN BEINGS have to ask ourselves. Do we as a people ignore every action? Do we as a people provoke war? What do we as a nation and people do? The key is to think. We must be rational even if our actions sometimes aren't. What do we stand for not as just Progressives or a Political party, but as HUMAN BEINGS.
We all live in a world that is effected by powers that be so what do we do as a people and who are we in the long end. This isn't black or white we must look at History and decide what our hearts tell us. Don't turn Syria into the new NSA by just being emotional THINK AND USE THE BRAIN WE WERE GIVEN because Whatever Gods or Goddesses or Lord is up above watching may they have mercy on our souls if we do not make the right action.
