Hearing that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg officiated a same-sex wedding has made some people very sad. Specifically, people whose entire religious beliefs revolve around being able to insist that other people live their lives in accordance with their own religious wishes. People like the theocratic sad-havers of the
Liberty Counsel.
"Doesn't this just prove that we're no longer slouching towards Gomorrah, we are galloping full speed ahead towards it."
This is because the lunch specials in Gomorrah are delicious, but reservations are limited. Also, for reference, I believe it was Bethlehem, if you were referring to Yeats there. What's that? You were instead referring to the words of great American poet and Quaker Oatmeal backup mascot
Robert Bork? I see. That is a considerably duller reference—how unfortunate for you.
"It is not in the nature of government, whether it be federal or state government, to define what marriage is—it is outside the realm of government, it has always been and will always be one man one woman, and so even with the Supreme Court of the United States saying that it's ok, it's not ok."
(1) Of course it is, if we are then affixing legal rights to those definitions. (2) The word "always" means, I think, something different from what you think it means. (3) "The law is not the law if the law disagrees with me" is the battle cry of stupid people and revolutionaries, and you do not have the facial hair to be a revolutionary.
"We need to be in prayer for our nation. We've seen that a federal recognition of same-sex marriage essentially results in the criminalization of Christianity."
It does? Really? Hmm, you must be doing it wrong.
