about Leaves on the Current. Wish I could say more, but we are on hold until she talks with her oncologist, probably tomorrow.
Don't worry. The discussion is because of how well she is doing.
But it could represent some major changes in the short term.
In the meantime, given my new teaching position and ensuring she gets the best care, I am dropping almost everything other than school and taking care of her. Here I am, a very political active Dem in Virginia in the midst of elections for all 3 state-wide offices and all seats in the House of Delegates and I am neither going to political events or contributing. Even when offered the opportunity to attend a fundraiser for an important Virginia politician for free (because they know the situation with my wife) I have passed on it.
Sometimes we reduce life to the essentials.
In order, for me, they are
1. Leaves on the Current
2. My students
3. Our cats
4. everything else, including me
I am planning to make ONE exception on Thursday, and attend the annual DC fundraiser for Netroots Nation at the Mott House, even though it is unlikely I will go to Detroit (it conflicts with volunteering at the Wise Virginia Health Fair).
I am reading some of what is posted here, as you can tell by my recommendations and my irregular commenting.
I am posting very little, even when I see things about which I am tempted to write, as I was with Krugman's column this morning. I have to trust that whatever I could say will be said by someone else.
Writing about the Ravitch book was different.
And now, I am exhausted, I need to crash to get at least 6 hours sleep before the morning, and I get up around 4 or so.
Peace.
