Hi again and Happy Friday! Stop in and share a cold one with us.
Here's a song to start with. Not a drinking song as much as a brewing song.
Probably any of us homebrewers who bottle have had some blow up. The scary part is once you realize that when it goes it's not blowing the cap off, it's shattering the glass bottle. Pretty damn impressive amount of force. And even one whole bottle of beer is a sticky mess on the floor (and walls, ceiling, door...).
In beer news from Down Under we have this great image: Australian Wild Pig Drinks 18 Beers, Gets in Fight with Cow
the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) reported... that the people camping overnight at the rest area said that "the pig stole their beers, drank them and then afterwards proceeded to tear apart the bin liners."
One camper ... told ABC that the pig got into 18 beers, ransacked the campsite's garbage bins and got into a fight with a cow.. "there was some other people camped right on the river and they saw him running around their vehicle being chased by a cow."
Hey, I can laugh, not
my beer. Campers here in NorCal are used to having to stash our food and drink securely; a bear can destroy your car in no time if he smells food inside.
But the really important beer news is that it's that time again, the world's biggest and most important beer event has come around. Tomorrow Oktoberfest begins, and for the next two weeks we're all Müncheners. Prost! But take a full wallet.
With € 9.85 the price for the most expensive "Maß" Oktoberfest beer is 35 cent higher in comparison to last year.
I've got Hop Stoopid; what are you drinking?
