The Republican that saves the Republican party from itself by preventing a government shutdown and a fiscal crisis.
Now I know many of you are going to say it’s too early. Well, it’s never too early when you are positioning to run for POTUS.
The GOP is tearing itself apart. If they go through with shutting down the gov’t and causing us to go into default, they will lose so big in 2014 that we may actually see the end of the Republcan party. It reminds me of 2002 when the Bush admin put the Dems on the spot with the vote to support attacking Iraq. The difference is the Republican party is doing this to itself.
This Republican, no matter who it is, will be able to go into the 2016 primaries by claiming credit for bringing the party together, by working with the Dems to do what is best for the country. That’s what the country wants……uniters not dividers. Remember GW Bush ran as a compassionate conservative, even though he wasn’t. It was the idea that he could work with both sides that gave him so many independent votes.
Also, this probably leaves out Chris Christi because he will be too busy running for Govenor of New Jersey, the 2nd richest state in the union. The chances that he will jump into this fray is unlikely. So if you are hoping for a Christi candidate, you are most likely going to be disappointed.
So who will it be? That’s the million dollar question. Who will be the Republican with the courage to stand up for what is right for America, right for their party?????
Honestly, it won’t matter who it is. The only thing that will matter in 3 years is that they stood up against the crazy bullies in their party, and did what is right for America. The fact that this person, whoever it is, was the only person with the guts to stand up for what is right will be remembered and rewarded because this person will be seen as the best person to bring the GOP party together in 2016 and win.
Eventually it will be someone because they will not be able to keep the government shut down for long (remember 1996) and they will not be able to not pay the bills for very long (remember 2011). The million dollar question is who will it be?
