I received this email today from my asshat of a representative, the republican Jim Gerlach.
It's full of republican talking point lies about the ACA, the Farm Bill and the budget showdown. It's seems he's going full Cruz on this. Gerlach used to called a moderate republican. But what he really is a tool who will do and say anything to hold onto his seat. He's not a moral compass but a weathervane.
He uses the lies of workers who have healthcare losing their healthcare, not having a choice in healthcare and dependents will be thrown off. Also he lies that full time employees will be reduced to part time so that employers can avoid insuring them. This trend of part time employment started with the crash in 2008. Walmart, the scumbucket of employers was doing this to avoid a lot of fair labor regulations even before the crash.
He tries to paint his support of the Farm Bill, millions for millionaires and nothing for the hungry, as fiscally prudent. He lies about the bill being about ferreting out fraud and abuse and protecting tax payers. There's a ferret alright and tax payers need protection but not from the hungry but from the millionaire agribusiness farms who reap millions from the tax payers for subsidies that were supposed to support struggling family farms. There is even a provision in the bill to allow states to require drug testing for SNAP. This is somehow fiscally conservative - to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to find out that poor, hungry people don't have the money to buy drugs.
I was so enraged by his crappy lying newsletter that I fired off an email to his office. I await the standard reply letter that has nothing to do with what I said. But at least I let Gerlach know that I know he's lying and that at least one of his constituents knows it.
