Failed 2010 Minnesota Governor candidate Tom Emmer is running to replace Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) who is retiring because of federal investigations into her failed 2012 presidential bid. Emmer made a fool of himself in 2010 with a series of unforced errors and gaffes that he was never able to recover from.
Soon after gaining the MNGOP endorsement in 2010, he held a press conference in which he was going to attack Democratic candidate Mark Dayton. Instead everyone was talking about his claim that servers make $100,000 per year.
Instead of talking about his vision (crazed as it may be) or attacking his opponent, Emmer spent the entire campaign explaining and backtracking.
Fastforward to today ...
Sally Jo Sorenseon broke this story at Bluestem Prairie yesterday.
When the storm settles, there's only one clear choice. Integrity Exteriors and Remodelers.
"Hi. My name is Tom Emmer and I'm running for congress in Minnesota's Sixth Congressional District.
"If you're looking for someone to do remodeling, siding, or general construction, residential or commercial, I can tell you without qualification, you need to call the folks at Integrity Exteriors and Remodelers. They're the best.
Emmer is the frontrunner to succeed Bachmann. Up until this weekend anyway. He'd raised the most money and gotten the most attention.
This could all change with yet another unforced error.
Seriously. You could very easily argue that Emmer had this race in the bag.
Superior name recognition. RWNJ credentials which the voters in MN-06 seem to appreciate. He just had to do the hard work, woo many of the future delegates he already wooed for the 2010 MNGOV endorsement and not do anything stupid.
But no.
Calling Tom Emmer stupid is nearly an insult to stupid people everywhere.
And the national media are picking this up. Could this finally be the end of Tom Emmer's political career?
