Trent Lott, the eminence grise of instrumental Southern resentment politics - now senior counsel at Patton, Boggs - gleefully suggested that his fellow senatorial old bulls "cut the legs out from under" Ted Cruz. That the remarks were made to Mother Jones magazine is emblematic of his utter contempt for his rabble. And, Politico, the vapid bellwether of Beltway conventional wisdom, is slanting all their homepage titles against the kooks. The Tea Party's goose is cooked; their cognitive dissonance at The Companies siding with the Islamo-Marxist interloper will be a delicious laff-riot. Not worried, the rubes don't stand a chance - they themselves never did, but their astroturf turd of a "movement" will now go the way of the Know Nothings and the Birchers. They were doomed the moment they got sideways of Corporate America on jeopardizing stable planning and thus profit maximization. Their fate will be even more ignominious than the denouement of the Gingrich debacle, because Gingrich was George Washington when compared to the menagerie of ghouls that includes, but is not limited to, Steve King, Louis Gohmert, and Michele Bachmann. The House might even be in play now, assuming the Money Power ditches their no longer useful idiots, which would be rational. This is what happened in the 1998 Midterms after Blewinskygate. When you've already got a Bob Dole-type fiscal conservative as president, why keep on subsidizing the presidential campaign-wingnut welfare merry go round? -especially when it turns on you... And thus did the Twilight of the Pigs commence.
