I haven't posted in years, and looking at my entries, my life has changed a lot since 2007.
I am now widowed, my father has passed away and my mom is in an assisted living center. She doesn't watch Fox News anymore. Recently, I wrote my last tuition check to Cal State Los Angeles. My daughter finishes college after this quarter.
Now my idea: I have 26 years with the federal government. I, like at least 800,000 others was furloughed this week. There is a bill that was just introduced to give us back pay that is being sponsored by both Democrats and Republicans. I am as much furloughed as I am on call and will be expected to report to work as soon as an appropriations bill is signed into law. I've spent my two days off going to the offices of Congressman Becerra and Senator Boxer. Senator Boxer's office turned out to be closed. Apparently she has furloughed her staff. She didn't do that in 1995.
Still here's my idea. If we don't get back pay, could some federal employees band together and file suit against tea party and right wing groups, that are providing the support and cover for this racket for our lost wages? Could we go after the syndicators and radio stations that broadcast the people that are supporting this? Since all these groups understand is money, and you take it away from them, perhaps they will go away.
Are there any attorneys out there that think this may be a possible strategy or worth pursuing?
