The vast riches of the Koch brothers are funding a huge network of organizations to oppose healthcare reform whatever the cost – a government shutdown or default on US debt doesn’t bother them at all.
We analyze this in detail today in
Vast right wing conspiracy exposed by New York Times
If you want to know exactly whom to blame for the federal government shutdown – and the twin crises still heading our way – it was all on the front page of the Sunday editions of The New York Times.
It is a scary story of big money funding a massive campaign that has led to the shutdown and debt ceiling crises.
In their story A Federal Budget Crisis Months in the Planning Sheryl Gay Stolberg and Mike McIintire introduce us to the powerful men (and a few women) who have used their enormous wealth to bring America to the brink of a global disaster.
“The billionaire Koch brothers, Charles and David, have been deeply involved with financing the overall effort,” we learn. “A group linked to the Kochs, Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce, disbursed more than $200 million last year to nonprofit organizations involved in the fight.”
This vast right wing conspiracy involves hundreds of millions of dollars, thousands of “foot soldiers” and a core group of very rich white men.
Think: top 0.01 percent!
It is disgusting that a small group of rich ultra-conservatives is holding the entire country hostage over Obamacare.
