Instead of questioning the viability of the Executive Branch using the 14th amendment (validity of public debt), why not turn it around and hold the Tbaggers accountable to uphold the Constitution they claim to love so much?
Yes, I know, a pipe dream.
But if a Rep or Senator is arguing for not raising the debt ceiling, it sounds to me like they are violating their oath of office, since the validity of public debt would be questioned. And these Reps/Sens should therefore be subject to removal proceedings.
WikiAnswers details the process.
Of course, getting 2/3 votes would be nigh on impossible; but if there are 80ish TBaggers of 435 in the HoR, then maybe, just maybe a 2/3 vote could happen. The Senate, of course, would be even less likely.
But, really - couldn't Obama argue that Boehner & Co is violating the 14th amendment?
