I've been asking his staff almost every day, and now it seems we have an answer:

Mr. Rantz: "So if John Boehner today put up a bill that was just a clean resolution you would support that?"
 Rep. Reichert: "Yes."

Of course, none of this means he actually WILL when the time comes, but at least we have something to hang around his neck.

Let him know how you feel!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

Just made my daily call to Dave Reichert's D.C. Office,  (Call them at 202-225-7761).  Scott, who answers the phone, said that Reichert's position has not changed.  He tried to sell me some snake oil that Reichert supports opening "essential" government services, which is Tea Party Republican double-talk that means piecemeal funding of the Defense Department.  Reichert is still definitely against signing a Discharge Petition on the Senate C.R to raise the debt ceiling, nor will he vote for a "clean" CR on either ending the government shutdown or raising the debt ceiling.

Do not let the lying sack of shit Tea Party Republican Dave Reichert perpetuate his "pose" as a "moderate" Republican.  He is a Tea Party toadie all the way.

that Reichert is a Tea Partier, but it is absolutely the case that he doesn't have the courage to stand up to them.

        is no difference.

He is totally owned by the Tea Partiers and thus is a Tea Partier.  He sure as hell isn't representing the people of Washington's 8th District by shutting down the government and refusing to raise the Debt Ceiling.

Isn't it time to really work to elect a Democrat to represent WA-8?

"Democrat."  With Reichert you know what you are going to get, if someone like Rodney Tom (he is still a Democrat, technically, isn't he?) were to run for that seat...I think I would rather have the predictable tea partier with few, if any, legislative accomplishments.

          •  Reichert is predictable in one thing - (0+ / 0-)

He will always vote for a Republican for Speaker.  I'd take a dozen Rodney Tom's at this critical juncture to have one Speaker (Nancy) Pelosi.

in this last legislative session, you think he would choose the most self-serving path?

he does whatever his leadership tells him to do.  In the 111th Congress, he voted for every delay, poison pill, every Republican amendment that came up.  But when it came to the final vote, if it was going to pass anyway, he was released to vote for it.  I'm guessing on these 'report card' votes, he was allowed to vote the way that might con liberal Seattle voters into thinking he was moderate or bipartisan..

I believe he's at the top of the ballot - no statewide race for him to hide behind. The district Leans R, but it's not the lock the two to the east are.
