Yeah, this probably isn't gonna go over too well.
FLINT, MI (WNEM) - Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder is making some eyebrow raising statements about the city of Flint.
In summary, Snyder said retiree benefits should be on the chopping block in order to have money to keep public safety employees and fight crime in "murdertown."
It's a dire way to describe Flint for the governor, especially considering Flint has been under control by the state for a number of years when an emergency manager was appointed to run the city.
Note to self: When running for Governor, try not to badmouth the 7th largest city in your own state, even if it does heavily trend towards your opponent's party already.
Republican Presidential candidates can get away with ripping on, say, "Chicago-style politics" or "Hollywood Liberals" because of the Electoral College; California and Illinois aren't likely to vote for you anyway, so it doesn't matter whether you lose them by 1 vote or 1 million.
Gubernatorial candidates can't use the same playbook. Every vote in the state counts for or against you, period.
Help Mark Schauer win back the Michigan Governor's office, willya?
