Herein we will see how a North Carolina GOP County Rep explains exactly what the states new restrictive Voter ID laws are for.
a) "Kicking the Democrats in the Butt"
b) "Who Cares if some Lazy Blacks Can't Vote?"
Yes, those are real quotes. Via Raw Story http://www.rawstory.com/...
In the interview, which aired Wednesday night, Yelton tells Daily Show correspondent Aasif Mandvi that the new voting law, which mandates voter identifications, the curtailing of early voting operations and does not allow college students to vote using their school ID, “is going to kick the Democrats in the butt.” He also dismisses concerns that the law will particularly affect communities of color by saying, “If it hurts a bunch of lazy Blacks that want the government to give them everything, so be it.”
And then that guy, Got Fired.
[Sorry about the AutoPlay, I've tried to disable it]
In a amazing stroke of almost Justice this Raging Frack-Hole was Fired from his position in the Republican Party shortly following his remarks. Unfortunately since the party has chosen to Keep the Policy, yet fire the guy who Revealed What the Policy Was For we can see exactly which way their stripes run.
As you see here:
Buncombe County GOP Chairman Henry Mitchell confirmed in a separate statement that Yelton had been asked to vacate his position and also called Yelton’s statements “offensive, uniformed and unacceptable of any member within the Republican Party.”
“Let me make it very clear: Mr. Yelton’s comments do not reflect the belief or feelings of Buncombe Republicans, nor do they mirror any core principle that our party is founded upon,” Mitchell’s statement read. “This mentality will not be supported or propagated within our party.”
You don't agree with his "offensive, uninformed and unaceptable" comments? Which ones? The ones that say the NC Voter ID Law will block the vote of Democrats, or that it will block the vote of Black People (who happen to be mostly Democrats)? Do you object to the idea that Black Peopel are "Lazy" or that they simply "Want the Government to Give them Everything"?
Which was the offensive part? Do you actually disagree with any of it?
And what about Yelton? Does he have any remorse or regret for his comments? I mean he did "resign" over them didn't he?
“There’s nothing I said that I would take back. So be it,” state GOP executive committee member Don Yelton said in an interview with the Asheville Citizen-Times published on Thursday. “The activity going on across the state today proves what I said is true. The Democrats are jumping on it like flies after honey.”
Yeah, imagine that. Democrats getting upset when you
Rig the Vote Against Them, sensitive little things aren't they?
And what about the LAWS he was talking about? Will they make the GOP "Kick the Democrats in the Butt" or not? Was or was that not the POINT of those Laws?
Not that we really need the NC GOP Chair to really answer those questions.
We know the answer. It's clear, as Rachel Maddow pointed out, the GOP biggest problem with Minorities - is the GOP. http://www.rawstory.com/...
