hi evraybody. How was your weekend? Mine passed pretty much in a blur except for last night. I was visiting my ma, headed out around 5:45 since I wanted to get home before dark since I hate night driving -- headlight glare distracts me -- but I'd forgotten to turn my lights off after driving east through the Caldecott Tunnel so my battery was dead. No one in the old folks home had jumper cables, mine disappeared months and years ago, so I called AAA and an hour later called again and a quarter-hour after that called AGAIN and finally found someone with cables and as they were hooking me up, the service truck finally showed up. I think the first driver dispatched must have gotten lost. Then driving home across the Bay Bridge not only could I not see very well but the high winds were absolutely terrifying. How windy was it? I was fighting to keep my little Toyota Corolla on the straight and narrow, and terrified we would just blow over. This morning I read that 4 or 5 big rigs blew over on Altamont Pass last night.
Last week passed in a blur too. I missed most of the venthole action but caught up afterwards. Craig was all in reruns so didn't miss much there. He's back tonight with Katey Sagal and Richard Curtis. Sagal is an actress and singer-songwriter who is full of surprises. I didn't know she was a musician before she showed up at Hardly Strictly this year, and I didn't know she used to be married to Jack White before I noodled around with Google just now. But not THAT Jack White, another Jack White variously described as a country music drummer/ actor/ hockey technical advisor. Oh. Richard Curtis is a director with a new time-travel-rom-com out called About Time.
Also not to be missed this weekend was Animal Nuz no. 171 featuring a truly inspired rendition of a curly headed big fat rat.
