The glitches that are occurring on the federal insurance-exchange website are big news now. They are not, in general, occurring on the state exchanges. That means that when your local paper carries a story about the glitches you can write a LTE saying either:
1) Yeah, there are problems with the federal website. We should congratulate our state government for deciding to build its own.
OR
2) There are problems with the federal website we have to use. Look, though, at [ Choose one: California, Illinois, Kentucky, New York or any other state which built its own and is experiencing few difficulties.] If our governor (or legislature, depending on circumstances) hadn't been so stubborn, we could have had that experience, too.
My suggestion isn't intended to be your words, and there is no reason for preferring a LTE column to a local blog. My point is that state government is as responsible for the glitches experienced by their citizens as the US administration is. The Republicans are trying to exaggerate the glitches to hang Obama. He will never run again, however. The state government is up for election -- often next year.
