A recent Poll shows that bad press is increasing awareness of Obamacare and that may be a good thing for the ACA law. The poll was conducted between Oct. 17 and 20, immediately after the government reopened after the 17 day shutdown and while media attention was shifting to the many technical problems with the Healthcare.gov website.
The survey released Monday by Bankrate.com shows awareness and interest in the plan is growing among key demographics. The poll found 51 percent of all those surveyed — Democrats and Republicans alike — say the House Republican attacks and troubled launch of the Obamacare website have made them more interested in the new medical insurance plan. Only 4 percent say they're less interested.
In the Halloween picture above you see one of my funny friends who knows how to party, always knows where the best parties are and also organizes some pretty awesome ones. He graciously allowed me to use his Halloween picture to bring across the following point: regardless of the snafus of the new health care web site and the implementation of the ACA law, it has served to raise awareness about Obamacare.
I don’t recall ever talking politics with him and I was surprised he had something to say about Obamacare, even if it’s through a hilarious message. We finally talked politics after I saw the picture and I learned he has been getting a lot of information about Obamacare through NPR. NPR has been doing a good job of covering first the government shutdown and then Obamacare and providing opinions from both sides but also clarifying what the facts are.
My friend took his message to the Fantasy Festival in Key West but I think another venue would have been better, like one of those little town fairs with pie baking contests deep in redneck country. On the other hand, I worry that if any tea party people see this picture, since they lack a sense of humor, they may start calling Rush to complain that their hard earned tax Dollars are now supporting prostitution.
