Stumbled across a remarkably stupid right wing site that I won't name or link to. They are saying that food stamps are cut because it is all part of "Obamo"'s plan to start a civil/racial war in the US so that the government combined with the UN can end democracy and make the US into some sort of socialist/international/atheist state that persecutes decent christian people and give us even more social programs and hurt rich people. OK, I have heard all these elements before, but this is all linked to a sales campaign for silver and gold, I assume bars or coins or whatever, and books, videos, and other survivalist gear and how to information to help buyers survive the strife that is certain to come any day now, as Obama's plan unfolds...

I had become somewhat used to seeing a certain amount of this crap over the years, but It is constantly becoming more strident, racist and idiotic...

I wonder, are there ANY intelligent people remaining on the right?

Sorry for this rant, but am really puzzled by this...we used to have some decent people in the US...what happened?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

The con is probably the only way a person with no talent and no ability to please can secure a living for him/herself.
Perhaps the problem is that many Americans actually have a surplus they don't need and are ready to give away or share. Think of the success of fundraising campaigns for politicians. The difference between promising to ward off catastrophe and providing directions on how to avoid armagedon is slight.
Gold is being peddled because it is still being mined and, unlike black gold, doesn't get used up in being used.

In the grand scheme of things, these virtual catastrophes employing figments of the imagination (money and words, scrip and script), are infinitely less harmful than bloody skirmishes. Being bombarded with ads is much better than being targeted by hellfire missiles.

    No.  By definition.

and NONE of the imagined atrocities he was supposed to be planning come to pass, I wonder if the official line from the RWNJs will be:

    1) Complete silence because revisiting all of their fantastic predictions would make them look incredibly paranoid.

    2) The claim that Obama WOULD have done all of those things, if not for the deterrent factor provided by heavily-armed ultra-patriots such as themselves.

    3) It's all part of Obama's master plan!  He's waiting until AFTER he leaves office, because then we'll NEVER see it coming!

    line from the wingnuts.
I received a couple e-mails about the new dollar coins not having "In God We Trust" on them, never occurring to pull one out and look at it to see that it was nonsense.

  •  Prepper food riots.... (0+ / 0-)

In the world of the "preppers" and their fellow travelers, food riots and "bugging out" have been a long time staple of their steady diet of hate & fear.   That's what a vast amount of the ammo hoarding that's been going on since Balack Obama took office.

Sure, there's some in that crowd who have fantasies of taking on the U.S. military...or more so of the military joining them against their U.N. Agenda 21 driven masters....But, if you've kept an eye on them at all, you've seen plenty of discussion of  being prepared to "bug out" of the cities turned battle grounds to a safe redoubt in the woods somewhere with plenty of survival gear, supplies, and of course, ammo to mow down the mostly minority black & brown marauders and take back their country.

Damn, I wish I was making this crap up.

then the message is NOT intended for your ears.

It is intended for the easily frightened, fact challenged,
    Moran Demographic.

Think about it.  That particular demographic has been
a reliable source of income since the days of Elmer Gantry.

Ted "Carnival" Cruz made close to half a million in Tax Free
    cash during the Government shutdown.

No heavy lifting. No working outside in Bad weather.

Just tell Teh Stupids what they want to hear and they
cough up money like a broken slot machine.
