In a previous diary Desperately Need Help with Fraud I talked about the major fraud we are experiencing with a moving company. We have always been told that the Better Business Bureau is there to help consumers. Don’t you believe it! They are there for the business people not you the consumer. I just got a note that they are closing the complaint saying the company was “reasonable.”
The new definition of reasonable:
· Have a customer sign for the eight boxes you used to pack four lamps and charge $1,000.00 for packing.
· Give a binding estimate and make the customer pays over twice what was agreed on or you will never see your possessions again.
· Lie and say there was 5,000 pounds of weight and refuse to reweigh or give the customer or the police any proof of weight.
· Cause $1,000.00s of dollars in damage and refuse to pay.
· Hold the customers possessions hostage threatening to dump their possessions and move on and not let the customer know where their things are.
This is the second major problem I have had with a company that the Better Business Bureau has blown off. These people had given a good rating to the moving company crooks before I signed with the company. Obviously that rating was false and you have to wonder how a company that has multiple fraud complaints against it on the Department of Transportation’s website earns a good rating with the Better Business Bureau.
My advice if you have a problem with a company don’t bother with the Better Business Bureau because trust me they won’t bother helping you.
The Department of Transportation however considers what this company did was fraud and they are looking into it.
