The worm is rapidly turning. Huff Post just reported on Lara Logan's appearance on CBS This Morning to admit they were wrong to air Dylan Davies' (unbelievable) account of his actions during the Benghazi attack. It took the FBI account of Davie's testimony to finally sway 60 Minutes to say...Oops!
I have to admit I'm relishing the worm-on-the-hook predicament of the formerly relevant investigative news show (sorry for all the worm references...perhaps stinking fish would be a better metaphor).
The Huff Post article is here. It includes Logan's unsatisfactory mea culpa "interview" on CBS. She said:
"We were wrong to put him on air," she said, adding, "We will apologize to our viewers and we will correct the record on our broadcast on Sunday night."
7:11 AM PT: Wow, Rec List! Thanks. A couple of days ago I outlined Davies' original incident report. On its face, it showed that he was lying. There were corroborating witnesses, probably Blue Mountain Group employees, who would have been interviewed by their employer (and probably the FBI) who would know whether Davies was at home at the "villa" or disobeying orders and committing acts of comic book heroism. I doubt 60 Minutes spoke to them... http://www.dailykos.com/...
