Answer: Five-term State Rep. Tom Brower (D) and Americas newest anti-homeless vigilante. He has, no joke, taken to the streets with a sledge hammer to smash shopping carts that could be used by the homeless. He said he has "not actually taken a cart from a homeless person" but then he has only been at it for two weeks. What happens when his supply of "unattended shopping carts" is depleted? Will he go looking for the stronger, harder fix of actually confronting homeless people with a sledgehammer?
He said, and this a a state Rep. i.e. a guy who is paid by the public to enact laws:
"I got tired of telling people I'm trying to pass laws, I wanted to do something practical to help clean up the streets."
On a related note, Hawaii has the largest homeless population in the country "but rather than build more shelters or offer more services for the poor, lawmakers approved $100,000 over the next two years to offer one-way flights off the islands to any of the state’s estimated 17,000 homeless persons."
