Good Morning all y'all.. Welcome to KosKraft, Issue 27.
This Group is for all those creative kossack artisans, plying away at their benches. If you make things, please join, and maybe give us a look at your work.
After the WYSIWYG cloud.
A big Thanks to last week Koskraft diary by postmodernista. It was a well thought piece. It garnered some extra comment participation, and some new faces around here.
Well, it's that time of year again, and there's a lot of fellow kossacks working like elves. Put your money where your mouth is. Hotlist the Kos Katalogue Holiday Mothership!
Last week was a tough one for the "artistic temperment". I lost it a couple times over the ACA. People rarely come into the shop itself, why?, because I'm a good distance from Town. But when they do, it's the old general store type conversation. But lately, I'm getting too much misinformation and lies out of people over the ACA. I was an angry young man, and apparently, I'm now an angry old man. This heart patients blood pressure went volatile a couple of times. Oh well, you know what they say if they can't take a joke...
Like I've said before, this Group is not about sales, but more about the actual lives, feelings, and thoughts of Artists and Craftspersons. Walmart gets better coverage than the lives of us small Makers. So, if you've made a brand new leopard skin pillbox hat, show it to us, but let's have a little movie of your brain while you made it.
Like the cobbler with worn shoes, or the Mailman who goes for walks on his day off, the craftsperson is always the last to get something they make. I entered the modern world lately, and bought a new camera. Do I get a leather camera bag...No, of course not. Now it could have gone two ways. I make a bag to show off my skills, or I shlep one together out of need. Guess what, I tried both, neither made it to completion. Went on Amazon Prime, and picked up a cheap bag. Done. I have too many things to make for other people before I get bogged down on me.
I might have shown these before, but what the hell. Lately, I'm into my old days, pre-sewing machine. I'm hand stitching some of my belts. Look on the internet, and you'll see Old World hand stitched leather belts going for a $100-$150 each. Hey, all power to the Craftsman who actually can make money, but to us ordinary people, and to our ordinary customers, that's just a dream.
These ecig holders aren't taking off in the hinterlands where I live, but I might try them on Amazon, or some such. For all you
GUS people, take heart. My wife started using one and that same day was the last cigarette she's had in a year.
Well, that's all for now.
All Kossack Artisans are welcome to join the group, just send me a PM.
In the meantime, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the
KosKatalog. They do yeoman's work in there, and it's about as business close to supporting "local" as you can get on the inter tubes.
Another crafty place to hang around...
