Whatado evraybody, whatado.

Don't forget the Animal Nuz on Saturday.

Tonight's first sked guest is actor, Tim Meadows, who spends a fair amount of time doing stand-up.  He also was in 'Grown Ups 2' which was released in July 2013.

The other sked guest is author, Helen Fielding, her third installment of her Bridget Jones series was released this past Fall.

This past week of shows have been previously recorded while Craig has been on tour in the south and along the eastern seaboard.  He is in Ontario this weekend and has no more shows sked until mid-Dec.  There are two shows next week and then repeats W,Th,F over Tgiving holiday.

Last night, sallym talked of her recollection of the day JFK was assassinated.

My contributed recollection was this.

I had just turned 6 years old and was in the first grade.  Our teacher, Mrs. Honn, gave us the news and told us to lay our heads on our desks for a little while.  Then she went to her desk and wept as quietly as she could for a few minutes.

It was 11:30 a.m. Mtn. Time.  The recess bell for lunch rang a bit early.

Our President had been killed.

That was a bad thing.

I don't recall how the rest of the day and subsequent days went specifically, just that sadness was everywhere.

If there were any local commemorations in this area, I am unaware of any plans or PR.  Many cities and towns around the country had a remembrance of some sort.  Anything happen in your part of the world along those lines today?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

The assistant principal came to the door of the classroom and said the president had been shot. Soon after, he returned to tell us he had died.

Years later, I was inducted into the service about 10 days after Dr. King was shot and was in basic training when we were told Bobby Kennedy had been killed.

I was deployed to Viet Nam in November later that year. When I returned home on leave, (it was November again) I was watching the news reports on the anniversary of the shooting of JFK. My parents had just purchased their first color TV. Until then I had only seen the Zapruder film as still images in black and white. The news station showed the film at normal speed and in color. It was extremely disturbing and I shut myself in my room for the rest of the day.

    I still can't watch it.

I went to Catholic school, pictures of JFK in each classroom and many homes. There was such pride in our first Catholic president, a sense that he belonged to us just a little more. Of course it was Camelot, all seemed better than it really was. With word, just after lunch, came tears and and shock. We were sent downstairs to church to pray for Our President. The funeral was on Monday, no school, a National day of mourning. That heavy, silent sadness seemed to last a long time.

this year.  The tundra will probably be frozen, as it was tonight when our newest (and second) HS played and lost to Bozeman High for the Class AA state championship.

Griz look good, Cats aren't all THAT bad this year.  It's always a tough game.  Nobody in MT will see it unless they have access to some obscure FCS based TV channel.  The MIssoula channels can't air it.
