Interviewed on the WTF With Marc Maron, one of the 'kings' of talk radio, Larry King, had an interesting array of adjectives to describe the medium today. Here is an excerpt from the show:
LARRY KING: Well, the radio is a kickoff, because I got a lot of good write-ups and a lot of stories about that radio show.
MARC MARON, HOST: Why was it so, why’d you get so much attention?
KING: Because it was the first national network talk show.
MARON: Okay.
KING: I was the beginning of talk radio. I get a lot of credit as the beginning of talk radio in America.
MARON: Do you like what it evolved into?
KING: No, because it became a soap box - screaming, yelling idiots. A lot of what I hear is pop nonsense, political crazies.
MARON: Yeah, no real discussion.
KING: Political crazies. You know, NPR is good radio. But, the Limbaughs and these guys are just playing with a loose deck. And a lot of it’s an act.

It's good to hear a talk show veteran like Larry King agree with the majority of the public. People are fed up. Much of talk radio crosses the lines of ethics everyday. Rush Limbaugh is one of worst, if not the worst in what's now called, 'hate radio.' More than any other, Limbaugh gets away with continuous mistruths, while spewing racism, misogyny, and lgbt-hating bigotry, three hours a day, five days a week - for decades.
In this older video, Limbaugh admits to using anger and fear to suck his audience in:
The problem is, he evokes hatred and more ignorance in the not-so-stable. Last week an 81-year old man, claiming to be a Rush Limbaugh fan, was arrested for threatening to kill the President.
And Limbaugh's been in the news this month for such things as comparing the 'nuclear option' to rape.
There are national boycotts, petitions and protests working to get Limbaugh off public radio. Here are few things we can do.
