Obama has been secretly stealing all our pens, too.
Just because Michele Bachmann continues to say insane somethings at a brisk and reliable pace, here's Michele Bachmann
saying something insane again.
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) on Tuesday accused President Barack Obama of “rewriting the constitution” for his political agenda, particularly in the case of his signature health care law.
“He has rewritten the Constitution for himself as a part of his effort to fundamentally transform the United States of America,” Bachmann said on Fox News on Tuesday.
Hmm. I have tried very hard to parse out this "rewriting the Constitution" talking point, mostly because she keeps saying it and I feel that if we could understand her point even a little, we could do a much better job of making fun of her for it. No luck, though; it seems to have something to do with the executive branch doing executive branch things, banal things that either (1) nobody cares about or (2) were previously considered executive branch sacraments, back in the days when we were arguing that the Bush administration could do any little thing it wanted to so long as someone like John Yoo wrote up a note saying so. Apparently the tweaking of health care law regulations by health care law regulators jumps a constitutional bar that crushing a child's testicles as interrogation device does not.
I note that even the Politico reporter reporting on Michele Bachmann saying this insane thing could not really parse out precisely what her argument was, nor that offered by her eager Fox News piehole accomplice, so we probably shouldn't feel too badly that we can't decipher it ourselves. It may rely on the ability to see creatures and dimensions that the rest of us do not.
