In the richest nation on earth, ensconced in the same city as wall street, in the finance capital of the universe, there are twenty-two thousand homeless children living amongst the largest collection of billionaires known to man.
These billionaires have accumulated more wealth than half the population on earth combined, yet they need not leave the country, nor the city to find impoverished children living in hellish conditions, these poor children live just a few short city blocks from one of the largest concentrations of wealth, and power the world has even known.
read this article, and remind me that this is talking place in America, and not in some dilapidated, banana republic run by a two bit dictator.

We print our own money, and lately we have been printing trillions and trillions of it, and for what, the war machine, the surveillance state, the war on drugs, the oligarchy of banking and finance. We print our own money, it isn't backed by anything other than our ability to project global empire, but in the empire state, we can only project death, decay, and a dilapidation of empathy.
