Senator Reid is apparently willing to agree to delay confirmation votes on some Administration nominees until January, in order to please Senate Republicans and avoid having the Senate do - you know - its actual job - advise and consent to nominations.
These nominees have been unreasonably held up by the Senate GOP, in many cases for several months.
Why does Harry Reid and the majority Democrats now want to delay them even longer?
What is the rationale for Harry Reid's delays (the delays can no longer be considered GOP delays - they are Senator Reid and Senate Democrats' delays)?
Most Americans who have jobs are expected to do their jobs, including working most days during the holiday season.
The Senate prima donnas do not like to work much and prefer to take long breaks. They want their month off until January 2014. How nice for them - and a poor result for us.
Sen. Reid - stay in session and do your job. Don't cave in (again) to the Senate minority Republicans. They are the ones whose former actions (or inaction) have caused the need for the Senate to remain in session until Christmas eve or New Years eve to get these last few nominees confirmed. Why are you rewarding the Senate Republicans' delays - with your own longer delays?
Do your job!
