Some more bad news for Governor Tom Corbett (R. PA) and good news for Rep. Allyson Schwartz (D. PA-13)

Rep. Allyson Schwartz (D-PA) leads Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett (R) by eight points in the state's gubernatorial race, 45 - 37, according to a Qunnipiac poll released Wednesday.
Fifty-six percent of Pennsylvania voters said that Corbett did not deserve to be re-elected, and gave the governor a 36 percent approval rating.

Now for those of you who aren't sold on Schwartz, Corbett continues to get his ass kicked by the other Democratic candidates:

A Democrat who has not even entered the race, former state Auditor General Jack Wager, leads Corbett 48-36 percent.
State Treasurer Rob McCord puts up 42 percent against Corbett's 39 percent. Former state Secretary of Environmental Protection Katie McGinty leads Corbett 44-37 percent. Former state Revenue Secretary Tom Wolf leads Corbett 44-37 percent.
Corbett leads just one Democrat, former state Secretary of Environmental Protection John Hanger, 42-37 percent.
"Pennsylvania voters deliver a big bag of coal to Gov. Tom Corbett and directions to the State House exit as he heads into the holidays with the worst net approval rating he has ever had," Tim Malloy said in the poll release. Quinnipiac surveyed 1,601 registered voters via phone Dec. 11-16 with a margin of error plus or minus three percentage points. What's interesting is even though Wagner hasn't announced his candidacy, he's now the new frontrunner in the primary:

The 48-36 percent return was the largest margin among candidates included in the poll.
Though a recent Pittsburgh mayoral primary loser, Wagner has said he will make a decision about a gubernatorial run early next year.
“Allyson Schwartz is no longer the frontrunner in the hypothetical race,” said poll assistant director Tim Malloy. “Jack Wagner has the greater lead in a hypothetical race against the governor than Allyson Schwartz does.” - The Patriot-News, 12/18/13
But until he actually declares his candidacy, Schwartz still remains the declared frontrunner in the primary. Of course Corbett's people are shrugging off these numbers but he knows his extreme, right-wing agenda is hurting him, hence why he did this:

[Tom Corbett] announced Wednesday that he supports the long-stalled effort to instate nondiscrimination protections for LGBT Pennsylvanians.
In an interview with the Inquirer this week, Gov. Tom Corbett said he is coming out in support of HB 300 — which would amend the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act to add sexual orientation and gender identity as classes protected from discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations — after learning the federal government did not offer such protections.
[PGN publisher Mark] Segal said the conversation has been taking place among Corbett’s administration for three years. ‘We have really looked at every way about this and the governor had promised in that meeting that we would get it done,’ Segal said. ‘So I told the governor,’‘we’ll do it within your comfort zone and when you’re ready.”
Corbett drew harsh criticism from LGBTs and allies this fall after comparing marriage between two people of the same sex to marriage between siblings.” - Philadelphia Gay News, 12/18/13
I will have a much bigger, more in-depth diary both on the race and the Democratic Primary before the end of the year. But these numbers put a smile on my face. Hanger has to prove now that he can beat Corbett but he'll have time to make his case in the primary.
