Hi Kossacks!
Thought you'd like to see my scoop: Edward Keating, who won a Pulitzer for his 9/11 shots in the NY Times, was stopped in his tracks by the distinctively mustachioed guard who stands outside Christie's office. Can't wait for the furher-furor over this.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

It looks like something from the "Springtime for Hitler" number from the movie, "The Producers." Geez, Governor, leave this kind of silliness to Mel Brooks! He does it so much better!

The yellow triangle was used in the concentration camps to identify gay inmates. Interesting juxtaposition with the grey uniform and SS hat.

  •  It's Keating's scoop, not yours. (0+ / 0-)

Pimping a 1-paragraph post at your about.com site isn't what Daily Kos is for.

    •  My bad, I guess (0+ / 0-)

After years of reading comments here --many filled with joy over embarrassing revelations about right wing opponents--I thought readers would relish another tone-deaf misstep from Christie. If this was posted in a newspaper and someone linked to it, I doubt any of you would exhibit the same vitriol.

The Christie story is about abuse of power and endemic insensitivity. The guard picture is a small but powerful image.

I'm sorry that so many of you are blinded by the hatred of perceived self promotion. Daily Kos is a great site and community, but clearly I should have signed in as someone else. And then my sharing wouldn't be perceived as mere self promotion. I guess that's the price of admission to the warm, self-righteous world of this blog.

I've learned some important lessons. Have a great day.

The language in this comment suggests even more strongly that you're simply trolling the site and users, trying to provide a way to portray the site to offsite users as a bunch of 'self-righteous' idiots who are 'filled with joy' over pointless and trivial perceptual issues, who 'exhibit vitriol', and are 'blinded by hatred'.

Head on back to whatever RW blog you intended link this tripe on to show how evil and stupid DK users are.

        •  And you know me how well? (0+ / 0-)

RW? I've been reading this site for years and years.  I've donated money to Kos projects for years. I'm a liberal.

I wanted to share something that I wrote that I thought would be of interest and germane to avalanche of Christie news on the site.

People here get their knickers in a twist because i shared a link to something I wrote. Do I come here and post about Cormac McCarthy's wife getting arrested? Or the latest hollywood sex tape? No? It's not relevant to the site or the discussion taking place.  Ed Keating is a terrific photo-journalist. A Pulitzer prize winner. To report on his Christie Cop picture and his feelings about the picture is totally legit.

And I thought that sharing that link was totally legit, too.

I'm glad so many Kossacks are cynical and question things. And self-righteousness can be a positive force. But you don't know me. And you don't know my motives.

Really??? This is exactly the sort of crap that wingnut sites would use as an example of how shallow and reactionary the lefties are over at DKos.  What does that photo have to do with policy? How does that uniform impact anyone's life?

Standing by my original assessment of this: troll diary.  If it's not, and you really think that this adds some sort of value to the discourse here, then you need to reevaluate what you believe constitutes useful information and discourse.

lack of actions.  You 'read for years', but never commented, never wrote a diary before.  And then, when you finally decide to, you pull up something totally silly and want it applauded?

Yes, some of the stupidity you point out as occurring onsite happens.  But it should be pushed back on, not encouraged by adding more non-issue diaries.

There are real issues of political malfeasance around Chris Christie to be addressed.  To pull up non-issues only provides cover to the right, by allowing them to claim the left is obsessed with irrelevancies, such as uniforms or moustaches.

  •  That uniform is NJ standard and has been noted (0+ / 0-)

many times. Back door Godwin shouldn't be allowed either.
