Daily Kos folks, I know some of you are animal lovers so I'm asking for some support for Johnny, one of our rescues.
Junkyard Johnny is a special kitty. He was rescued from a junkyard (hence the name) in Manchester, New Hampshire back in 2003 and brought to the shelter I volunteered at. Needless to say, I fell in love with him. I’m partial to orange guys anyway, but Johnny just had a face I couldn’t resist. He was docile, friendly and just happy to be in a warm house, not scrounging around for food and warmth during cold winter months.
But even though he was safe and warm, Johnny wasn’t out of the woods yet. He hadn’t been in his new home very long when he became very ill with a urinary tract blockage. He needed emergency surgery and spent nearly a week in the hospital.
When he returned home, he had a hard time readjusting and developed some behavioral problems, which seemed to be a direct result of his medical problems. I took him to my homeopathic veterinarian, who suggested a change in food and started him on some new remedies. It was a long process. He was still fighting with some of the other cats, but overall he seemed unhappy. He also developed polyps in his ears which basically closed off his ear canal. Surgery wasn’t an option, because the doctors said they would simply grow back.
So Johnny continued his homeopathy treatments. It took years, but we finally started to see some success. In 2010 he had a dental to remove some of his teeth, as well as a growth on his lip. His ear polyps stabilized, but did not disappear. His behavior problems continued.
In late 2012, we discovered the supplement ASEA, which we began giving to Johnny both internally and externally on his ears. A year later, his polyps have shrunk and the vets can finally see into his ear canal again. His behavior has improved, and he gets along with everyone now.
But he’s got one hurdle left: He needs another dental. The growth on his lip reappeared, and his remaining teeth need to be addressed. This is the last thing keeping Johnny from feeling 100 percent. Can you help him?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
