13 Benghazi-like attacks happened under Bush with 50+ dead. Embassy attacks are an unfortunate reality in the world and have occurred under every administration in modern times. Security overseas is always risky business, and those who take jobs in dangerous places know the risks. Unfortunately, Republicans cut millions and millions of dollars from embassy security.

In addition, the nonpartisan Accountability Review Board cleared Clinton of any wrongdoing in regards to Benghazi. Counterterrorism Director Matthew Olsen called Benghazi a “terrorist attack” 3 days after Susan Rice went on the talk shows.

And finally, Hillary’s quote has been taken out of context. Hillary didn’t say “what difference does it make” that 4 men died, she was referring to the Republicans obsession with Susan Rice. The NYTimes now says the YouTube video that Susan Rice cited DID have something to do with Benghazi. The truth is finally coming out.

Bottom line: Republicans didn’t care when Bush lied about WMDs, nor did they express outrage over 9/11/2001, the Iraq War, or the 13 embassy attacks with 50+ dead under Bush. Their outrage is phony and they are essentially spitting on the graves of those lost in Benghazi for political gain.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

I haven't seen very many attacks on Hillary wrt to Benghazi around here.

There's many legitimate reasons why people might criticize her on DailyKos. Benghazi, so far as I've seen, hasn't been one of them.

Perhaps the intended audience for your diary are those who likely don't read this site very much.

I suppose the search engines will pick it up, though.

  •  I hadn't seen people here attacking Hillary (0+ / 0-)

on Benghazi but it's not surprising. I was on Obama's side here during the 08 primary and I don't remember any of us attacking Hillary for things the right wing attacked her on (like Whitewater or Vince Foster). Benghazi is in the same category. People here should know better.

This is for right-wingers on social media that are making idiotic comparisons about Benghazi and Bridgegate.

The tent got so big it now stands for nothing.

...in the form of concern trolling: "We can't let Clinton win the nomination because then the Republicans will drag up all of the old scandals like Whitewater and Vince Foster."
We'll probably see that again, as long as she remains a contender.

  •   GOOPERs loved Islamic fundamentalists (0+ / 0-)

in the 1980s. They used taxpayer money to dedicate space shuttles to Islamic fundamentalists.

Even as late as 1995, the Wall Street Journal cheered the rise of the Taliban in Afghanistan.

The Saint Ronald of Reagan had no time to meet with Admiral Hyman Rickover on his retirement but he made time to have a photo op with Islamic fundamentalists.

And the threat of Islamic fundamentalism has been known to the world for nearly 1,000 years. Yet the GOOPERs ignored this and we have to suffer the consequences.

  •  And Sec Clinton's State Department (0+ / 0-)

security experts testified budget cuts did not have any bearing on the Benghazi attack.

Republicans cut millions and millions of dollars from embassy security.
    Oct. 10, 2012 hearing:

QUESTION: It has been suggested that budget cuts were responsible for a lack of security in Benghazi. And I'd like to ask Ms. Lamb, you made this decision personally. Was there any budget consideration and lack of budget which led you not to increase the number of people in the security force there?

DEPUTY ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF STATE CHARLENE LAMB: No, sir.
        *
QUESTION: So there's not a budget problem. It's not you all don't have the money to do this?
LAMB: Sir, it's a volatile situation. We will move assets to cover that.

    May 8, 2013 hearing:

QUESTION: Mr. Nordstrom, you were on that panel. Do you remember what she [Lamb] said?
REGIONAL SECURITY OFFICER ERIC NORDSTROM: Yes, she said that resources was not an issue. And I think I would also point to the ARB report, if I'm not mistaken, that they talked to our chief financial officer with D.S. [Diplomatic Security], who also said that resources were not an issue.

Right wingers will do anything to get off the subject of the bridge.  FOX News covered it for only 15 minutes when the bombshell emails came out that first day.

Christie was going to be their take down guy.  He was going to knock Hillary Clinton out.

Now?  Never.....going.....to.....happen.  Even before the bridge, she could have spit the big guy out first thing in the morning on her way to breakfast.

  •  You know what's frustrating about Benghazi (0+ / 0-)

That NOBODY in the administration ever mentions all the attacks under Bush.  They NEVER say anything about the security budget that was slashed, they allow the Republicons to walk all over these facts.

Until we FULLY GROW A SPINE and hit back we'll have problems if Hillary runs in 2016.

Never be afraid to voice your opinion and fight for it . Corporations aren't people, they're Republicans (Rev Al Sharpton 10/7/2011) Voting is a louder voice than a bullhorn but sometimes you need that bullhorn to retain your vote.
