Received this e-mail today from Senator Mark Udall (D. CO) regarding cuts to military retirement plans:
Last month Congress took a step toward bipartisanship by passing a two-year budget agreement to cut spending, decrease the federal deficit, and end arbitrary budget cuts known as "sequestration."
But, as with most deals that meet in the middle, this budget agreement isn’t perfect. There’s always room for improvement.
That’s why I joined my colleague Rep. Kyrsten Sinema to reverse cuts to military retirement benefits.
Join Rep. Sinema and me in calling on Congress to restore these benefits promised to the courageous men and women who serve this country.

Rather than balance the budget in part on the backs of our country’s veterans, let’s close offshore tax loopholes or end corporate giveaways that don't create good-paying American jobs.
Our veterans have fought and sacrificed to protect our freedom here at home. We have a responsibility to care for those who have laid down life and limb. We share a sacred commitment to our veterans that must be protected.
That’s why Rep. Sinema and I want Congress to reverse these cuts and uphold our pledge to America’s veterans.
Sign our petition to ensure our veterans get the retirement benefits they deserve.

Mark
