"Stand your ground" and the "laws" passed that offer it as an excuse for civilians to do another human being deadly harm are in direct opposition to the "Good Samaritan Laws" that were being brought about in the 1970's and were considered "common sense law" prior to that time. GSL only needed to be codified in order to protect people, who were perhaps untrained, from lawsuits if the intervention, first aid or rescue resulted in a bad outcome. In other words, GSL's, which are nearly worldwide now, protected people from being sued if they tried to help someone whilst "Stand your ground", only in some US states, is to protect those who harm someone. That is twisted and inhuman logic at its' finest in my estimation. Maybe next time, instead of pulling a pistol, offer to hold the popcorn.
