You see this I have in my hand? You SEE it?! This proves Obamacare is a job killer. It KILLS, ok? Whatever that Vic Meyers guy is doing, he should know I beat Betsy Markey in 2010 by 10 percentage points, um-kay? I've got royalty written all over and I deserve it!
In 2012, Rep. Cory Gardner got elected with 58% of the votes in Colorado's 4th Congressional District, beating off then-Democratic candidate Brandon Shaffer and winning a second term in a region in the state rated by the Cook Political Report as R+11.
However, Democratic Candidate Vic Meyers is still in the CO-04 Race in 2014 and continuing on in his quest to unseat Gardner.
On February 1st, Meyers will be appearing at the Douglas County Democrats Central Committee Meeting in Parker, CO meeting with fellow Democrats. In case you are looking to meet Meyers and learn more about him, details of the event are as follows:

Looking forward to meeting more Douglas Dems and updating them on the campaign.
The Fort Morgan Times has good insight into the reason why Vic Meyers was compelled to run for Congress in Colorado's 4th Congressional District:
http://www.fortmorgantimes.com/...
Meyers noted that within minutes after the U.S. Senate finally compromised on the budget and the debt limit, U.S. House of Representative Republican leaders said they would never compromise.
"We've got a Congressman (Gardner) who is following the Tea Party line day in and day out," Meyers said.
What's worse, Gardner thinks the recent Farm Bill is good, Meyers said.
Meyers said he's seen a lot of energy in the district for ousting Gardner, who seems to think he is protected and can do anything he likes without caring what voters think.
"I'm asking you to believe with me," Meyers said.
The district is still a place where the legacy of the forefathers is alive, he said.
In case any of you are need aware of who Vic Meyers is, let's just say if you compare him to Rep. Cory Gardner, there's a considerable contrast between the two and it's not just because of the fact that they're both from different political parties and persuasions.
Whereas Gardner has been lured into the hands of lobbyists, Meyers is more of a straight shooter and more Main Street than Gardner. That certainly seems to show based on what Fort Morgan Times has covered about Meyers:
http://www.fortmorgantimes.com/...
Meyers heard a Congressman saying that representatives spend 20 to 30 hours a week just on fundraising to keep their seats. It seems as if they do not spend that much time working in Congress, he said.
Unfortunately, the people in Washington, D.C. are too busy hating each other and not talking to each other to get anything done.
Gardner signed a letter in support of tying social security to the consumer price index, which would lower people's benefits, Meyers said.
"That breaks the contract with citizens," he said.
In addition, Meyers is certainly very much progressive and should have no problem winning over Kossacks, particularly considering his opposition to chained CPI and his firm belief on protecting the underdog and small town residents:
http://polliticstoday.wordpress.com/...
My district is very large and very rural. The average income is around $50K/yr. Agriculture is a key industry and our small towns are struggling to survive. That is why I’ve chosen to run on protecting Social Security against Chained CPI and other attacks, Immigration Reform and Infrastructure Investment. There are over 80,000 people in my district that rely on their Social Security income. Fighting to protect it is a perfect example of representing the needs of the people. The same goes for immigration reform. While my opponent sings the Tea Party tune, the dairies and farms in our district struggle to bring their products from the field to the market because they depend upon immigrant labor. They need immigration reform. So do the families of the immigrants who work for them.
And for any of you who don't believe there's enough fighters on the Monsanto issue, Meyers reveals he's not a pushover when it comes to protecting farmers and ranchers rights and is definitely taken aback by Congressman Gardner's efforts to go back against what the farmers and ranchers really want:
https://www.facebook.com/...
Dear Friends,
The farmers and ranchers in Southern Colorado have been fighting to keep their land since 2006. The Army wants to expand the Pinon Canyon training ground. Reps. Salazar and Musgrave put a funding ban in place in 2008 that protected SoCo ranchers and farmers. Cory Gardner is proposing legislation that would end that ban. He says his bill is stronger protection because it would require Congress to vote on expansion and funding. Remember the Monsanto Protection Act? It required a vote of congress also and most of them didn't know when they voted on it. What is to prevent the same thing happening with a Pinon Canyon expansion bill? Nothing.
As your congressman I will fight for a permanent ban on expansion so that SoCo ranchers and farmers won't lose land that has been handed down for generations.
