Somehow or another I got on the RNC mailing list. No idea how. I have tried blocking sender, labeling it as junk and even told them flat out I think they are full of poop and they keep on sending me their vile, lying emails.
One recent one actually tried billing the Greedy Oil Party as the one that is carrying on MLK, jr's Dream! The unmitigated gall!
Well today I got an email from Sean Spicer, RNC Communications Director. It is so full of bull poop it is amazing, but most interesting is their usage of Obama's key election slogan to take on Hillary...which is so 2008 of them!
See below for Greedy Oil Party anti-Hillary crap that take Obama's slogan as their own:
Received 1/23/14:
The Media Establishment is ready for the coronation of another President Clinton.
In fact, they’ve been setting it up for years.
Just this week, Time magazine featured Hillary on the cover with the caption: “Can Anyone Stop Hillary?”
We have the answer: Yes. We can.
The RNC and the Republican Party are the only ones who can stop Hillary. But we need your help.
The Clinton Machine has been building up their arsenal for years, and they’re taking out anyone in their way.
To go up against the Clinton Machine, we must be well armed and prepared. We must build up our war chest now.
Together we can stop Hillary right now.
...
Thanks,
Sean Spicer
RNC Communications Director

So...first off they are still clinging to the "liberal media" myth that wasn't true when Reagan first spouted it and is even less true since FoxNews eroded the credibility of the media so much that a comedian like John Stewart is a more reliable source of information than most American news sources.
Second, I find it interesting they are using macho terminology to portray Hillary. It used to be Dems were all wimps. I guess Hillary has turned it around on them...she is ready to take the poor, poor GOPers with her large arsenal. Unusually macho rhetoric for Repubs to use vis a vis Dems. Do they really want to portray themselves as being so weak and behind in armaments and preparation?
Finally, they are grasping at the Obama "Yes we can!" meme as their own for 2016. Guess they are so out of ideas of their own other than "No no no no no no" that they have to steal Obama's meme. (NOTE: actually the original meme, as pointed out in the comments, was the United Farm Workers union in 1972 as "Si, Se Puede." But of course I doubt the Republicans are even aware of that and just think of it as the slogan that worked for Obama).
Desperation. They are actively pushing Hillary as a frontrunner and giving the impression of desperation. If there is one thing voters do not vote for it is desperation. If they keep up with this kind of rhetoric they are bound to lose in 2016. Maybe they already know that and they really ARE desperate. In which case it will be interesting to see what sacrificial lamb they put on the electoral alter in 2016.
Let's make the Republican desperation even deeper: Donate to make America more progressive.
