Lawrence O’Donnell:

“senator Rand Paul showed this weekend that republicans will not limit their attacks on presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to how she handled the incident in Benghazi.”
Rand Paul @ Meet the Press (video clip):
” well, you know, the democrats, one of their big issues is they have concocted and say republicans are committing a war on women. one of the workplace laws and rules that i think are good is that bosses shouldn't prey on young interns in their office. and i think really the media seems to be -- have given President Clinton a pass on this.”
David Gregory soft ball question:
“right. but is it something that Hillary Clinton should be judged on if she were a candidate in 2016?”
Rand Paul:
“no, i'm not saying that. this is with regard to the Clintons. and sometimes it's hard to separate one from the other.”
So Rand Paul denies saying what he is saying..Got it -  the republican post-autopsy  “rebranding” gambit

Lawrence O’Donnell:

“ joining me now, msnbc's Joy Reid and the " Washington Post's" Nia- Malika Henderson. Joy, Bill Clinton is back, but not in the way he wants to be back.”
(short ad - sorry)

Joy Ann Reid:

“No. I mean, I think it's amazing. i think it might be the definition of the war on women to reduce Hillary Clinton to the wife of the cheating ex-president. and I think to try to make her answer for Bill Clinton.

It negates all of her separate accomplishments, all of which, by the way, are fair game in a presidential election. this woman, in addition to being the first lady during the whole impeachment and Monica Lewinskygate thing has also been a united states senator in her own right.

In the clip you just played (as you've just shown) she's been our secretary of state, held important positions and done substantial things whether you agree with them or not.

Litigate that.

I think it's the cheapest of cheap shots to try to go after Bill Clinton but the purpose of it obviously is to try to dissuade Hillary Clinton from using the war on women language against whoever her opponent is going to be.”

Kudos to Joy-Ann Reid; as usual she is spot on and makes it look easy; exposing yet another republican’s motive; the fear of being challenged on their War on Women, disguised behind a concocted accusation of exactly what they are guilty of

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

Yeah, women should be protected from predatory behavior in the workplace -- but it's okay to use them as human incubators or make them go through invasive medical procedures or pay extra for contraception when men are getting their woody pills covered in their employer health plans or pay them less for the same job.

put Hillary in the position of either condemning her husband or defending him. Either way, they'll skewer her with it every time she brings up the Republican War on Women.

      of this ploy, vote wise.

Independent voters actually think about who they vote for and make decisions based on what is important to them.

I just don't see how a husbands's infidelity, considering that studies show 90% or more of hubbies are unfaithful, has enough negative impact on Hillary to be the deciding point in how an independent votes.

Not only that, Randie has shown the Republican's ploy way in advance of 2015/16 so Hillary will have an answer ready well ahead of any interview of debate that might ask her about Bill and Miss leopard print pantie flasher.

Of course should Monica want the world to forget her part in almost destroying a President, Randie has pretty much ruined any hope of that by making it a 2016 issue.

Bottom line, the person Randie hurt the most is Monica.

      Well done manly man, Randie.

she's savvy enough to let her surrogates use the "war on women" language. I would be surprised to hear her utter the phrase itself although she'll talk a lot about empowering women and promoting women's health issues.

MTP had ANY credibility or integrity or even the slightest bit of sense, they would have shut down the interview the minute Paul says :"and I think really the media seems to be -- have given President Clinton a pass on this." That might be the stupidest, most ignorant, most idiotic thing ever said in America.

  •  It's a ploy that will only work with Republicans. (0+ / 0-)

It is so dumb that independents will see through it in half a second.

Of course it does smack of the truism that men cheat on their wives because the wives have failed in some way.  They are old, or ugly, or frigid, or having their period, or aren't juicy enough.

    It's always the woman's fault.

I haven't heard that rationale in a good many years but don't doubt it is still alive and well in the boy's night out bull (s....) sessions.

Go for it Randie, it just makes you look stupid and sexist, it will not persuade moderate independent voters, but will offend women.

  •  Define Independent (0+ / 0-)

Please.  The Teabaggers think of themselves as "independent" voters FCS!  I know, I know, but did you see the Palin clone they put up tonight against the President.  That is why women can't get traction, betrayal by sisters.

She's a mindless bimbo reading from a script she was handed a few days ago so she could practice reading it in front of her bathroom mirror! She acted like a sock puppet! Her mindless drivel of a 'rebuttal' sounded like it was an ad for a new refrigerator in 1955!

"Wouldn't you like to surprise the little wifey with the latest in kitchen help? We've got the best deals in town! C'mon down and check out the new line of refrigerator/freezers at Wally's Appliances! (Satisfaction Guaranteed)! We'll be praying for ya!"

Believe me, most women are smart enough to realize she's not a 'sister' to any of them! Give us a little more credit than to fall for that kind of stupidity!

Who fall for their shite, we'll have to fend off idiots who hold her type up as an example of "American Womanhood".  And yes, I agree with you 100%, but TB's have women too, brainwashed, but female.  It's harder to educate people as long as they have a bad example to point to as "evidence".

        •  Yes, but as long as we can also use her as a bad (0+ / 0-)

example of how women are "brainwashed" into believing stupid shite and point to her as "evidence" we're ahead of their curve!

Women should be screaming every time we see a woman use these ignorant, hate based talking points, calling her on the carpet for them and showing her how dumb she's let the other side make her look. We need our intelligent, lucid women with a public voice out there proving how dumb all this bull truly is.

We all know there are those who, for whatever reason, choose their side. We need to put more public focus on how wrong that side is in every way we can. We need to stop being "polite ladies" and use the powers we have to shove it right back in Republican faces to let them know we're not going to let ourselves be used this way anymore.

This concept of "American Womanhood" is an Antebellum Era ideal of the generous Chatelain who keeps pouring the tea and talking about the latest French fashions as the screams of slaves in the background accent the conversation and she pretends the noise is a purring cat at her feet. She's not supposed to have serious thoughts, let alone be compassionate to anything the least unlike herself or her life (unless she martyrs herself for The Cause). Women need to stand up and make sure these "men" know we've got brains, we know how to use them, we're not heading back to those barefoot, pregnant, and cooking dinner for Pa and the gang days and they better get used to it.
