How about the following for a title of an article?

The Environment is THE most important issue facing humans and now we find out that the USA is using the tools to fight terrorism to fight the environment.

We learned about this from documents released by Edward Snowden.

'Insane, Disgusting' and 'Epic Treachery': NSA Spied on Climate Talks
'Obama admin. clearly never wanted Copenhagen talks to work,' says Bill McKibben following latest NSA revelations concerning climate talks

We found out from hacked documents that OWS was branded a terrorist effort even before the first NY City demonstration.

Now that we know that the NSA and probably the FBI spies on international diplomats for the corporations, it is not a surprise that we were spied on when we raised the issue of criminal behavior of the banks.

More below.

I am a slow learner.

It was only a couple of months ago that I realized that the middle class was a threat to the oligarchy. We used to have power in the political system. Hence the move to turn us all into share croppers.

With this article I didn't realize that the environment was an enemy.

We have seen that protesters of KXL have been handled as terrorists by the Canadians and probably in the US as well. That probably extends to anti fracking protests.

But now we see that our government, along with Obama, is working for the oligarchs and for the corporations. He was at the final days of the Copenhagen meeting in 2009, along with Hillary Clinton and the position papers before the conference show that he was informed. Or at least his team was informed. Was he told that we were spying on everyone like UK's GCHQ spied on

NSA’s close allies in the British intelligence agency GCHQ, for example, had carried out operations during two G20 summits in London in the six months leading up to the summit in Copenhagen. An internal GCHQ presentation, which is also classified as ’top secret’, states: »Diplomatic targets from all nations have an MO of using smartphones.«
Are these comments too far out? Here is James Clapper in 2007 who declares that the climate is an adversary. This is from the Danish newspaper article.
According to another top secret document, the NSA was already involved in climate related intelligence activities several years before the COP15. The document from the S17 division was posted to the internal NSA website on May 14 2007. Then US Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, James R. Clapper, who now oversees the NSA as Director of National Intelligence, is quoted from an internal NSA conference:

»Increasingly the environment is becoming an adversary for us. And I believe that the capabilities and assets of the Intelligence Community are going to be brought to bear increasingly in assessing the environment as an adversary

I added the bold.

From the link at the top you can get to the Huffington Post article and the Danish Newspaper article.

Here is a link to a document that was available from the NSA before the conference.

From the Danish article

Pressure on the US

Enormous economic interests were at stake in the countries’ negotiation of CO2 reductions. Governments worried that commitments would slow them down in the global race to increase competitiveness and maximize growth. In order to ensure the best possible position in the negotiations, the Americans employed the technological capacities of the NSA spies.

I am off to do a basement project so will be unable to respond to comments if there are any on this diary.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
