Received this e-mail today from the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) thanking Senator Jack Reed's (D. RI) commitment to extending unemployment benefits:
In December, 1.3 million Americans abruptly lost their modest unemployment insurance benefits, which helped keep food on the table while they looked for work. Now is not the time to deal another blow to our economy and struggling families.
Senator Jack Reed of Rhode Island has been a consistent champion for extending the unemployment insurance that would help struggling families. He sponsored the recent bipartisan measure that would extend these necessary benefits, and he is keeping the fight going, even as extremists in Congress have cold-heartedly tried to shut them down.
Please take a minute to sign our thank you card to Senator Reed for championing the effort to extend unemployment insurance, and urge him to keep up this fight, which matters to so many of our families.
