There was a time I am quite sure that MONEY was not the dominating factor on who was going to win a race.   I am sure there was a time it did not shape policy.  I am sure there must have been an entrance door through the ballot box and not the treasury box.

I personally, do not recall such a time, but quite sure it exisited in some remote part of the world and maybe even America.  I am sick to death of not only bill collectors dogging me for every dime I really don't have but people running for office begging for crumbs off my meager table so they can fight back against anything that even remotely
resembles representative government.  I picture little ole ladies and poor coal miners scraping up dollars and dimes to hand over in hopes of a better life.

Citizens United is as crooked as a snake.  Of course you know this.. Why doesn't everyone know this?   The back room deals minus the smoky glaze is still in effect.
The slide of hand to the special interest is bigger today than ever.  The picking the pockets of those who really do not have money to give is a business in itself and I for one am sick of it.

Every single time I see, " Just give three dollars to fight", we need your help, can you meet us at such and such for just a few dollars, " I feel like I am being torn to shreds.
Money is a damn hard commodity to come by.   Why is the entire campaign dependent on how much money is in the kitty?  When did not some but all prospective legislators become obsessed with the almighty dollar and how much it buys to smear and attack, and defend ?

This country will never ever amount to anything but a brothel of greed and lust for the greenback until we the people do something about the pigs who gobble up any hope for prosperity of the common man and woman to further political ambitions and then spend years and years doing the pay back.  Con artists in a two bit carnival have more shame than people running for office.  Yes.. Yes  I know it takes money to run a campaign.  My question is why?  Why do people not care enough to give their time and energy for the good of the people.  It does not take rocket science to figure a 7 figure individual spending fortunes to work their way DOWN the ladde of monetary success is getting a big pay off if elected.  Why do we as a free people let it continue?

I feel most people are fed up with these shenanigans and bleeding people dry.  Here it is the first of the month and people such as myself are as broke as the day before payday.  Why is that?   Because Occupy or the idea of occupy knew the rich got richer and no one else mattered and it damn sure looks like we are in one helluva depression.  People lose little bits at a time or get so stressed even from the people they root for in election years that they are downsizing themselves right out in the street.

I would love to see America care about something other than money.   We are all in the same boat pretty much.   We all are sinking.  We all are just drifting in a sea of greed and hate and yet no one ..not one person will step to the podium and say, " I am through, if it costs you a dime".  " I want to be the first person to ask for your vote and help without it costing you money you don't have ... " I want you to prosper".   I mean say it with meaning.

Of course all of the above is just a pipe dream but that is so sad.  We longer have anything  to really be proud of as a nation.   We don't grow, manufacutre, cultivate, or even elect the way we should.   What a piece of worthless, entitled bunch sitting on the Supreme court that made things worse with Citizens United.   Why are people so apathetic?   We need to take this message on the road or at least to anyone who is willing to listen.... I am so fed up with this so called democracy under the banner of Freedom, I can barely wake up in the mornings.  I care even more about the soldier who stands on foreign soil defending this unequal way of life.   Do I hate America?   Well, let's just say I ain't too proud of the way we treat our people.   The way we handle elections.   The way we have a motto of Equal justice for all while so many laugh all the way to the bank while stepping on so many good folks on their way.   We are a masochistic society, I do believe and furthermore, I do not believe it was always that way.

Peace out !!!  Good luck finding that peace.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
