Received this e-mail today from Senator Tom Udall (D. NM):
When it comes to climate change, too many members of Congress are sticking their heads in the sand, hoping that if they do nothing and ignore the facts that the issue will just go away.
But it’s time to face the facts: Man-made climate change is real -- and it’s changing the face of our planet.
That’s why I’m joining with colleagues in the Senate to call on Washington to take bold action on climate change. And you can, too. Click here to sign the petition today.

In New Mexico, extreme weather events linked to climate change are becoming more frequent and more costly. The floods and wildfires that ripped through our state last year displaced hundreds of families and cost local communities millions.
Washington cannot continue to ignore the inevitable.
We need a “do it all, do it right” approach to energy policy -- one that takes practical steps to decrease our carbon emissions, invests in renewable energy technology, and reduces our dependence on foreign oil.
We can help curb the harmful effects of climate change, create jobs and spur innovation in our economy.
It’s time for Washington to take its head out of the sand. Sign the petition and tell Washington to take action on climate change.
